... There was a tiny little seed that used to dream with a better world…with better life conditions and grouth opportunities... This seed was looking for fertile ground so it could somehow bloom…It never lost the hope…One day, there was sun light and the ground was humid and soft…the rain would fall from the sky watering the ground with a perfect amount of water…

So, after a lot of work, here come beautiful flowers alive! They are confident and believe that other very little creatures, of all kinds, can fortunate follow the same path and have a happy and glorious existence… This is the beginning of our history!...

The program was named CARIUNAS as a tribute to Sr. Elias Salomé. He was a multi instrument music teacher and composer from the 50´th, which has a radio and TV weekly alive show in Belo Horizonte city (MG State-Brazil), presented by around 40 low income young children, that played all kinks of instruments at the “CARIUNAS BAND”. His goal was to offer income young children the access to art, throughout the music.

Fortunately, Tânia Cançado was one of these children. As a nine-year girl, she was a small artist playing accordion, which was so heavy that her father had to carry to her everywhere…

Inspired by this experience to have an opportunity to study music, do presentations on TV, radio, squares at the city and even travel to perform in other places, Tânia created the CARIUNAS PROGRAM, with the support of many friends and supporters!
